Darlene St Georges
As a Métis artist, poet and emerging scholar I endeavor to explore my Indigenous knowledge(s) based in ontological experiences through my unfolding identity, memories, dreams, and created (artistic) spaces. My imagination is an endless reservoir of images through which my searching unfolds abstract forms that act as metaphors of intrinsic knowledge, perception, insight, intuition and imagination. The intensity of colour in my work represents the dynamic and powerful interplay that occurs between us and the natural world - we are of the world. My work intends to provide the viewer a space in which to encounter, feel, appreciate and contemplate the energy that emanates within and is mirrored through our connections.
